Infrared Treatment

Infrared light therapy can be used to treat canine arthritis. It is a safe non-invasive treatment for all dogs, include elderly dogs, which involves no medication and no chemicals.
WHAT IS INFRARED? WHAT IS INFRARED TREATMENT?
Infared rays were discovered by Sir William Herschel in 1800. Through his research, Herschel discovered that there is an invisible form of energy beyond the visible spectrum of light. Although we cannot see infrared energy, we can feel it in the form of heat.
Infrared treatment utilises these invisible wavelengths of energy which have a therapeutic, healing and warming effect when absorbed by the body. This form of therapy is regular used on people, but is also highly beneficial for dogs.
BENEFITS OF INTFRARED THERAPY:
- Ease the symptoms of arthritis – reduce inflammation in the joints, relieve pain/stiffness and boost blood circulation.
- Reduce reliance on pain and anti-inflammatory medication. We have had many clients whose dogs no longer need to take medication such as Medicam after Infrared treatment.
- Can be used to speed up recovery from operations or joint injuries.

WHAT DOES INFRARED THERAPY INVOLVE?
Firstly, your dog will be sat or laid an infrared blanket. The blanket emits infrared rays into your dog’s body, which begins the therapeutic process.
Secondly, we use an infrared wand which emits infrared, far infrared and infrablue wavelengths. With the wand, we can target specific ‘problem’ areas on your dog’s body.
TREATMENT PLAN
Usually we will start with an intensive course of three treatment sessions over seven days. This will be followed by a single treatment after one week and another follow up treatment after 14 days. We would then suggest having longer breaks between treatments for as long as possible, usual one month intervals.
First therapy session £40 – Duration approximately 45 mins
Follow up sessions – £30 – Duration approximately 30 mins
DISCOUNT FOR BLOCK BOOKINGS OF 5 SESSIONS – £125 (£25 PER SESSION)
